As the summer approaches I love to create different drinks from our tea blends.
Our Island Vybz tea takes you on journey to an island paradise. The main ingredient in this blend is Hibiscus. This flower has many benefits including hair loss prevention, anti-inflammatory properties, improves blood circulation and constipation ease. Combined with the nervous and immune system boosting power of lemongrass this tea is packed with nutrition. Hibiscus has strong tannins that pair well with red wine, making this tea a great base for a sangria.
Some sangrias are very sweet and punch like, but this recipe created for wine lovers.
Ingredients
2 cups of island vybz tea blend
4 cups sugar
8 cups of water
1 tablespoon of ginger
2 star anise and/or 1 cinnamon stick
1 pound of fruit (mango, apples, strawberry, pineapple, lemon, and lime)
¼ cup of dark rum
1 - 750 – milliliter bottle of dry red wine
Directions: Bring water to a boil. Add tea blend and let boil for 4 minutes. Add spices
and sugar let boil for 4 minutes. Remove from heat and Stir mixture well. Let steep for
4 hours (letting sit overnight allows flavors to fuse making taste more potent). Strain.
In large pitcher stir tea mixture, wine and rum together. Stir well. Pour over Ice and
